Noel has considerable global financial experience in the property industry. His strengths are structuring debt and equity to optimise the profit and the risk of a project for a particular owner. He particularly enjoys seeing projects come to fruition that begin as a dream or glimmer in someone’s mind, and he is proud to have a role in the project and realise that dream.

Some of his past experience includes operating a real estate loan business in Victoria, Australia and then Arizona, USA for Citibank, offering a full range of debt products supported with options for hedging interest exposures.  In early 1990’s Noel managed and resuscitated a $4 billion dollar real estate loan portfolio in Southern California.

Noel initiated the startup, management and profitability of real estate finance, equity and property advisory activities in 21 countries for over 10 years. This included the due diligence and purchase structure for a US$1 billion dollar real estate loan portfolio in Mexico, investing more real estate equity transactions than any other international investor in the Latin American region, and advising the largest public real estate company in Latin America on the purchase and structuring of a US$130 million retail regional mall.

Noel has also advised multi-national companies and government authorities on the sale of over 20 buildings.

Recently, Noel has provided project and market positioning advice for problem real estate assets to four major financial institutions in Australia and New Zealand.

Design & Development 

Mat has 18 years experience in property development. Lately Mat has developed a passionate interest in the creativity and design of fresh innovative property ideas and that included the vision behind an innovative hamlet style sub-division in Whitford. Understanding the pressures of the rural belt outside of the Auckland urban boundary, and coming from a rural background, Mat has been intricately involved in planning, design and financial structuring of a rural village called Ahuareka, which is now in the very first stages of construction and sales. His passion and love of property shines through his well thought out, innovative projects.

Mat has completed the following projects as development manager or developer:

  • Palm Grove – 61 Apartments
  • Mendoza Terraces – 32 Town Houses
  • Sanctum – 104 Apartments
  • Hudson Brown – 134 Apartments
  • Quba – 96 Apartments, retail, commercial carpark 

Mat was also instrumental in commercial transactions to the value of $100m.
